I’ve found that starting with just one verse a week has helped me build up my “spiritual arsenal” over time. When I meditate on a verse, I ask the Holy Spirit to make it alive in me, not just in my memory but in how I live. 

When I commit Scripture to memory, the Holy Spirit brings it to mind exactly when I need it. Whether I’m sharing my faith with someone or going through a difficult time myself, these verses have become like treasure stored up in my heart.
